Charges

The Charges feature gives you the ability to automatically bill your customers for recurring charges at set intervals. Charges are sometimes referred to as Monthly Recurring Charges (MRC) based on the fact that most billing periods are monthly and the charge is applied to the customers bill every month for a fixed amount.

A very common example of recurring charges are:

  • Call Waiting Charge
  • Equipment Rental Charge
  • Voice Messaging Charge
  • DID Monthly Charge

CDR2Cloud allows you to create a Parent Charge to which you can add one or more Invoice Items. The Invoice Items then form the recurring charges which are billed to your customer based on the customer based Charge Type and Monthly Cycle of the Parent Charge.

Charges can also have a Start and End date allowing you to set a charge for a campaign and forget it. This way the charge will kick in at the start date and expire at the end date without any intervention.

CDR2Cloud allows you to create an unlimited number of Charges.

You can also assign multiple Charges to a customer account.

IMPORTANT

Charges contain Invoice Items. Charges are added to an Invoice by way of (and only by way of) the running the Invoice - CDR process. You ca not manually assign charges to an Invoice. If you want to manually apply a specific charge to a Invoice then you must use a Invoice Item to do so.
